On this private day trip, you will visit the pyramids of Giza, one of the wonders of the world. At the foot of the pyramids has been the silent Sphinx for thousands of years looking to the east and now overlooking the city of Cairo.

In Saqqara, it becomes clear how the first pyramids were created. The best-preserved examples are the step pyramid of Djoser and the pyramid of Unas. The most beautiful reliefs of the 5th dynasty can be found in the large tomb of the royal administrator named Ti.

You will also come to Memphis, the former capital of the old empire on the border between Upper and Lower Egypt - hence the nickname “Libra of the Two Countries” and visit the Saqqara necropolis in particular.

The pyramids of Giza are among the oldest surviving structures of mankind, they are over 4500 years old and also the only ancient wonder of the world that has lasted for thousands of years. They were built on a limestone plateau in Giza. Up to 30,000 people were busy building the Cheops pyramid for over 20 years. Building the pyramids was a huge drag. The wheel and pulley were not yet invented. The task was to stack stone blocks weighing two and a half tons on top of one another. Around 2.3 million limestone blocks were built. One brick weighs 2.5 tons. For several thousand years, the pyramids of Giza have captured the imagination and have recently been the subject of extensive research. Today the "riddle of the pyramids" is almost a household word. At least once it was claimed that the riddle had finally been solved, although the alleged solution later turned out to be untenable. For several thousand years, the pyramids and the Great Sphinx have been a symbol of the ancient Egyptians and their impressive civilization. When strolling between the human-sized lion paws and exquisite hieroglyphs, you will feel as if you have been transported to the time of the pharaohs.
