Description

The PADI Open Water Diver is a beginner's certification. The diving course lasts three days and includes pool lessons and two boat trips with four open water dives. The diving education provides the necessary and basic diving skills to become a responsible and safe diver.

The PADI Open Water Diver certificate enables divers to dive independently to a maximum depth of 18 meters.

PADI Open Water Diver course in Marsa Alam Development of theoretical knowledge
The first day of the Open Water Diver course in Marsa Alam: In the morning you will get to know your German-speaking dive guide and discuss open questions from e-learning. You will get to know your diving equipment and prepare it for the pool dive.

In the afternoon, you will put your theoretical knowledge into practice in the pool and practice basic diving skills. You will also do a swimming test and a water diving test (treading water). You will have enough time to practice your diving skills for the open water dives.

The second day of the beginner diving course - Today is exciting as you are doing your first open water dives in the Red Sea. You will be picked up from your hotel at around 7:30 a.m. and taken to the port. On our dive boat, the diving equipment is prepared for your first dive.

There is an authentic Egyptian lunch between the first two dives at selected dive sites off Marsa Alam. On the way back to the port, you enter your dives in your personal logbook. Upon arrival at the port at around 4:00 p.m., you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Learn to dive the third day: You are a certified diver with two more open water dives. Our dive boat will take you to new and exciting dive sites. Before lunch, do your third and then your fourth-course dive to within 18 meters. Enter your completed dives in the logbook and record your memories.

Once your open water training dives are approved by your instructor, you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver so you can experience unforgettable underwater adventures.

Your first diving license - PADI Open Water Diver course
Once you have received your Open Water Diver certification in Marsa Alam, you will be recognized worldwide as a certified diver. You are entitled to rent diving equipment and to undertake dives with a diving partner (Open Water Diver or higher) up to a depth of 18 meters.

What dive sites will I visit during the PADI Open Water Diver course in Marsa Alam?
Marine life is abundant at the dive sites in the Red Sea around Marsa Alam. Your instructor will show you a variety of tropical fish, colorful corals, and various marine life during the exploration dives. Since we have a flexible boat schedule, we choose the dive sites in the morning depending on the prevailing conditions such as weather, waves, and currents so that you can fully enjoy the PADI Open Water Diver course. You will do two dives per day with no time limit on our relaxed dive ship. Dive sites that are suitable for the PADI Open Water Diver course in Marsa Alam are Elphinstone Reef, Shaab Marsa Alam, Dolphinhouse (Shaab Samadai), Marsa Abu Dabbour, and much more.

Additional Info

  • Duration: 3 days
  • Description: Combining diving theory, skills training, and open water diving.
  • Recommended depth: You will be qualified to a depth of 18m and able to dive with a buddy independently.
  • International Certificate: After completing your course you will receive an international diving certificate which will allow you to dive all around the world.
  • Basic scuba gear: Mask, exposure suit, scuba unit (the underwater breathing apparatus), dive computer, weight system, and fins
  • Minimum age: From 10 years old. Children aged 10 and 11 can earn the PADI Jr Open Water Diver certification, diving to a maximum depth of 12 meters/40 feet with a PADI Professional or a certified parent/guardian. Children aged 12 to 14 can also be Jr Open Water Diver certified, to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet with any adult certified diver.
