First, you will visit Saqqara with the world-famous step pyramid of King Djoser, the first monumental stone building in the world. Then visit the individual bank tombs (Mastaba des Ti, Ptahotep, Mereruka). Memphis is the capital of the Old Kingdom and residence of many builders of the Egyptian pyramids, there you will see the alabaster sphinx Amenhotep II and the reclining colossal statue of Ramses II.

The highlight of the day is the Giza plateau. Let yourself be overwhelmed by the sight of one of the Seven Wonders of the World: the pyramids and the Sphinx impressions, which no words can describe how fascinating they are.

The world-famous, millennia-old pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos are the only remaining of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Its construction over 2500 years before Christ is still a mystery to scientists and archeologists today. How the builders and their assistants transported the massive blocks via ramps onto the taller building can only be speculated about. Because the ancient Egyptians left no record of the construction. It is also interesting that the three pyramids were erected exactly in the four cardinal directions and that the corners and edges correspond to perfect angles. The means to calculate this process did not actually exist at the time. But it's not just their age, and thus the millennia that the pyramids of Giza have already outlasted, that make these impressive structures so fascinating. Their importance also contributes to the mystical and unique magic that you can feel when you stand in front of the ancient wonders of the world.

Together with the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx of Giza was also declared a World Heritage Site and is no less significant. The most famous and largest statue of its kind, which impresses with its sheer dimensions, is conveniently located near the pyramids. About 73 meters long and over 20 meters high, the Sphinx represents a reclining lion with a human head, which is resting majestically on the sandy desert floor since around 2,530 BC.
